For me, the first two days of any adventure are the scariest — the most anxious. It’s when I’ve stepped the furthest out of my comfort zone and, internally at least, question the decisions that led me to this point.
It has happened on every adventure — so often I’ve taken to reminding myself to settle down, give it a day or two, and see how I feel that it’s become a habit. So far, those first two days, filled with anxiety and sometimes guilt, give way to pure joy.
This trip to Points North Heli-skiing in Cordova, Alaska, was no different.
