"'Cause someday we must return the movies in our brains
And these moments we can't fake
Yes, the angels never leak the expiration date"
-Mt. Joy, "Bathroom Light"
This song has been on repeat, or close to it, this week. The tune is catchy and this phrase, the only stanza in the lyrics I could actually understand, played with my emotions.
I loved the ideas of "movies in our brain." It felt so right. I feel like my mind is constantly playing movies — dreaming about the next adventure and trying to project what it will look like, feel like, and how it might change. Movies of things I plan to do at work and how they might look when they come to fruition. Movies about my family, things that happened in the past, things I hope happen in the future.
