Our favorite winter tradition returns to the Village at Tamarack Resort. And this year, we're kicking off the Pray for Snow Party!
You've got to love fall in McCall.
Warm days. Cool nights. Fishing, hunting, golfing, mountain biking, hiking, leaf peeping, high school sports, Homecoming, Halloween and, of course, the unofficial start of winter: ski movie season!
Here at McCall Life, fall also means one of our favorite traditions—collecting videos and photos for our annual McCall Life Town Edit.
There's something magical about hearing that little email ping announcing another submission. Maybe it's a young kid stomping their first backflip. A toddler discovering the joy of skiing. A powder day at Brundage. A family adventure at Little Ski Hill. Or a marriage proposal on top of the mountain.
Big moments. Little moments. Funny moments. The kind of memories that remind us why we love living here.
And every year, we get the incredible privilege of working with our editing team to turn all those random clips into one special movie celebrating our town and the people who make it such an extraordinary place to live.
To borrow the title of one of our previous edits, it's So Much Fun!
Save the Date: Saturday, November 7!
This year, we're taking the celebration to the Village at Tamarack Resort, where the Town Edit will help kick off Tamarack's annual Pray for Snow Party.
And it's shaping up to be one heck of a party.
Tamarack is bringing together the local winter community for an afternoon of live music, ski and snowboard culture, local booths, new winter gear and, naturally, a little collective encouragement for Mother Nature to start delivering the goods.
Representatives from our local ski community, including Tamarack, Brundage, and Little Ski Hill, are expected to join the festivities, along with other organizations that love winter as much as we do.
Here's how the afternoon stacks up:
- 3:00 PM: Pray for Snow Party kicks off with live music, local booths, winter gear, and more.
- 4:45 PM: McCall Life Town Edit premieres on the big screen. Look for yourself, your friends, and your neighbors!
- 5:00 PM: The Girl Winter Film Tour takes over with five short films celebrating women in snow sports, followed by a Q&A and poster signing with athletes and filmmakers.
The Girl Winter Film Tour features everything from big-mountain skiing and adventure to humor and personal stories. It's a pretty terrific way to get fired up for the season ahead.

There's Still Time to See Yourself on the Big Screen!
One of the things we love most about the Town Edit is that it's not a movie about professional athletes doing impossible things in faraway places.
It's a movie about us.
Our mountains. Our winters. Our friends and families. Our adventures.
You don't need to be an expert skier or snowboarder to make the cut. We're looking for everything from powder turns and terrain-park tricks to Nordic skiing, ice skating, hockey, sledding, first chairlift rides, and those hilarious little moments that make winter in McCall so memorable.

So, round up your friends. Bring the kids. Bring a thirst. Bring an appetite. And bring a little extra enthusiasm for snow.
We're going to celebrate another incredible year in the mountains, relive some unforgettable moments, and get ourselves properly fired up for the winter ahead.
